The milky way in the badlands is a fond memory for me. I was attending a photographic workshop for alternative portraiture where we were learning to think outside the normal process of making portraits. During the day we would dive deep into what makes us tick as a photographer, what drives our passions and what holds us back. It was a lifechanging event. In the evening we would drive into the Badlands National park to continue to learn as the golden hour of light surrounded us. When the light was gone we turned our cameras to the sky to capture the night. Such a beautiful place.
