Alone in the Field

I’m drawn to trees. When I’m out looking for something to photograph trees always stand out to me. What really draws my attention are single trees out in the middle of a field. I’m always on the lookout for them as I’m driving from place to place and sometimes I’m so captivated by a massive old tree rising to the sky all by itself surrounded by some farmer’s field that I either pull over as soon as I can and grab my camera or I make a note of where it is so I can come back to it later.

I would love to tell you where I found the tree in this blog, but I can’t. As it happens so many times, I’ll find myself mildly lost out in the countryside in either Northwest Indiana or Southwest Michigan while out on a motorcycle ride. That’s what happened when I came across “Alone in a field”. It was a beautiful day for a ride, the clouds were all swirly (I think that’s the technical term for them but, I could be wrong), and the sun was blazing down on the field and tree.

I’m really looking forward to the weather warming up again so I can journey out into the country on the motorcycle so I can discover new and inspiring scenes to photograph like the one being shared here.

Be sure to visit my shop for more images of the trees I’ve found so far.
