South African Photo Safari

It’s been a couple weeks since I’ve been back from South Africa. I believe I’m mostly back to normal after getting over the jet lag. I underestimated how that would make me feel. I’ve gotten the 26,000+ images sorted down to just over 100. That was quite a chore. I believe out of the 100 or so I’ve got a few that may be worthy of entering in competition. Haven’t really decided about them yet.

I’ve been slowly going through the images and printing my favorites. It’s really hard to pick favorites and that’s why I’m going through a lot of photo paper and printer ink. Boy am I going through the ink! It’s totally worth it to me though. As I look through them it takes me back to when I was out in the safari truck looking and waiting for the perfect image to bless me. Being out there so close to the wildlife was such a humbling experience. The skies seemed to go on forever and the scenery, even though it was stark in many places, awed me with its beauty. I’m still trying to understand why I could be so blessed at having the chance to be a part of it all.

There are many images to share and over the next few weeks I’ll be doing that. I know I’m just back from Africa but I’m ready to go back to experience the wonderful wildlife, landscapes and people again.
